Over the course of more than 33 years, Mr. Spanos has handled as lead trial lawyer numerous jury trials in complex business litigation matters. He has been AV-Rated since 2004 based both on his professional ability and ethical standards. Mr. Spanos has successfully defended the following cases arising from alleged officer and director liability:
2016: IMPAC Funding, Corp. v. William D. Endresen, U.S.D.C., C. D. Cal., Case No. 8:15-cv-00588 JLS (JCGx).
Civil RICO, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud-based claims against former officer, now senior executive officer of national bank. Case settled on terms favorable for our client, after IMPAC ordered to pay substantial monetary sanctions.
2016: Mitchell Anthony Productions v. The Temple of the Arts, et al., L.A.S.C. Case No. BC522687
Breach of fiduciary duty and other fraud-based claims against our client. All claims against our client ultimately dismissed against our client, with prejudice, despite our client having paid nothing in settlement.
2010 : Verge Media Companies, Inc., et al. v. Robert J. Maccini, et al., U.S.D.C., C.D. Cal. Case No. CV 11-05520-MMM (JCx)
Breach of fiduciary duty and other fraud-based claims against our client, former officer and director of Verge Media, after merger transaction. Following years of vigorous litigation, case settled on terms favorable for our client.
2009: Genutec Business Solutions, Inc. v. Michael Taus, et al., O.C.S.C. Case No. 07CC07918
Breach of fiduciary duty and other fraud-based claims against our client, former director of Genutec Business Solutions, following merger transaction. After more than three years of litigation, our client was dismissed with prejudice without having to contribute anything to settlement.
